The Lester Butler
Tribute Band 2002 featuring in random order: |
Enrico
Crivellaro (IT) guitar
More information about Enrico? |
Enrico Crivellaro is a quite articulate and elegant player, who not only knows in detail several musical styles, but who also tries to smooth off the boundaries between them. His attempt is to make music that is interesting rather than conceptual, and that doesn’t forget the two basic rules of blues and Black Music: groove and dynamics.
Enrico toured and recorded with some of the West Coast’s best blues bands, including the James Harman Band, the Janiva Magness Band, the Freddie Brooks Band, Lynwood Slim, and the late Lester Butler’s incredible punk-rock-blues unit called “13”. |
Big
Pete is the living example of the influence that Lesters music
and approach had in the blues scene. He's the most dedicated
Lester fan you can imagine. He was guestplayer with Mike
& the Mellotones at Ospel in 1999.
At the moment he playes his harp in the Dutch band the
Tonemasters. He also performed last year (2001) on the tribute to
Lester Butler festival organized by the NiX BBBlues Club.
He played like the devil himself leaving asthonished Lester fans
behind. |

is 92 years old as still living and he is the last living grandson of Quanah
Parker". Eddie was the initiator for the tribute to Lester

'the Kid' Donkers this tour. |

Matt
Schofield (UK) guitar

More information about Matt? |
Despite his tender age of twenty four, Matt has already established himself as one of the most exciting and in-demand guitarists on the blues
scene. He has appeared on DANA GILLESPIE'S two most recent albums and accompanied the likes of BIG JAY McNEALY and jazz saxophonist BOBBY WATSON, and opened shows for two of his great heroes, namely JIMMIE VAUGHAN and ROBBEN FORD.
Matt's passionate and energetic playing is always displayed with maturity beyond his years, never overshadowing his desire to embrace the song.
'Matt plays an incendiary strat…. his playing is positively spine chilling.'
