Once there was................
every story starts like this, so here we go:

Running around the country for years and years to see all our blues hero's and discover new bands everywhere we could burned us down. In our hometown (Enschede) wasn't anything for the blues. We always had to travel a lot and did it with a lot of fun but it seemed about time that some one put Enschede on the map as far as blues/roots/jazz/soul is concerned. So we had a couple of drinks, maybe a few to many and decided to go for it. The name NiX just means nothing at all, at least thats how it started out, meaning just nothing The triple B stands for Beer Bikes and Blues, the only way to live!

And so these three crazy guys founded the NiX BBBlues Club in Enschede, Holland.
Its a club founded by fans for fans. We're not in it for the money, hell no. Its just for fun and fun only.
Be sure to check out all that great people that are involved
Every penny (if we make some?) we make goes right back into promoting quality live music or in to the next gig. We put in 30 to 40 hours a week next to our daytime job. We're just crazy people devoted to music and blues/roots in particular.
Our only goal is promote blues/roots, give young and 'older' people the chance to discover and embrace the beauty of this music from and to the heart. So we created in our spare time from junk our humble club. The club was situated in a old factory building and completely build of crap.
No glamour or glitter, shit no, dust and air of flat beer and motor oil.............
We didn't have leather seats, you should be glad if there was a spot to put your rear-end down anyway.
The blood sweat and tears from the former workers was still running down the walls.
Its was a kinda place where the blues felt at home.
Therefore it was the only real juke-joint kinda club in the Netherlands. A real dive.

Enrico Crivellaro one of worlds greatest swing guitarist (he won the SwingAward 2002) said about our club:
'The best bluesclub in the galaxy and I mean that!'.
He's not the only one that felt right at home in our humble club. It was a great place to play despite the shaggy looks of the outside. The warmth, the atmosphere inside and the fans made from most gigs a never to forget show. The club is for fans by fans so to speak. We don't do it for money.......if so we would be better of to organize other events
NO WAY !!
Its just to let others enjoy and discover all those wonderful things that good music can bring.

Just to give you a impression how musicians think about our club:
"In the mean time - just know that you have a wonderful club, that exists for all the RIGHT reasons, which is very rare in these days. We need more places like yours for the blues, and for live music in general for that matter. It's always a pleasure to play there, and I'd be very upset if anything happened to the club."
Matt Schofield (very talented guitar player from the UK)
"As far as the club is concerned, I can't say enough good things about everyone involved. We were all amazed at your kindness towards us in putting us up for the night, feeding us, picking us up at the train and taking us back in the wee hours of the morning, as well as your passion and enthusiasm for the blues. As a foreigner in your country, I feel like Nix BBBlues Club is a great Ambassador for the Blues! We feel honored to have performed for you and my band could not stop talking about what a great time we had in Enschede.
Just the effort you all made to make sure my show happened was phenomenal."

The newest CD of the Tony Vega Band from Houston Texas. In the booklet under the Thank you's between great names such as Lyle Lovett and Tab Benoit the only club in the whole world mentioned by name: the NiX BBBlues Club !!!!
Thanx Tony. You made us very proud.

The 'thank you's to our club in about 15 booklets of CDs at this moment are the best compliments for that what we're trying to achieve and shows us that we're on the right track. And there's a lot more but I think you get the idea.

We are very fortunate that most musicians and not only local or national bands but also international highly respected musicians/bands understand our situation and the why............we're trying to boost the blues sky-high. That's important in this 'plastic-music' period. Check out all the musicians that played our stage or for whom we arranged some gigs.
We're not just a simple club, book a gig and that's it, no, just take a look at our website and see that we try to promote musicians/bands in every way we can. Put up links, soundbits, dynamite photos ........and lots more.

Uncle John Turner

We were kind of wandering because we lost our beloved club (they demolished it to create another parking lot) in that old factory till we met Theo from cafe De Doedelzak. At this time we make use of a room he only used for weddings and stuff like that. He gave us the chance to furnish it so it has the right vibes. We don't cry about loosing that old unique place beyond our control just remember all those wonderful and mostly magic appearances of great bluescats from all over the world. We've found a lot of 'blues brothers from other mothers' over here and across the oceans and that's our reward for all our efforts to boost the blues sky high. So next to promoting on different stages we also organize two festivals this year  Drijf In Giethoorn and the NiX BBBlues Festival Enschede
....... so you see we're not retired YET !!!!!

But there's also a price to pay and we didn't see that coming..............
We get tons of mail, phone calls and letters. Its seems everybody wants to play on our stage..... and that's great GREAT but.......
In some ways we are victim of the success because we simply don't have the time anymore to answer every mail or letter and we hate that. People expect a answer right away and that seems fair.
We hate the idea that people think we have a attitude or are not interested, it seems rude but its never our intention to offend anyone in whatever way. We try and try but a week has only so much hours. Hopefully you understand that and forgive us to be human after all

Well that's it in a nutshell. You know a little more about us, how it started and who we are.
If you want to know a little bit more about the people behind the club check out this page!
You can contact us by email:  (and we try to answer it asap
)
